This document is the User Manual for version 2.0 of the Mars Climate Database (MCD) and replaces Collins and Lewis (1997a) which described version 1.0. Version 2.0 of the MCD incorporates several improvements, outlined in this document, but should appear almost identical to the user in terms of operating procedure, unless low-level use is being made of the large-scale variability model. This document reproduces and updates material from Collins and Lewis (1997a), where it is still relevant, as well as adding sections on the new features. For descriptions of the contents and structure of files, details of the dust distribution scenarios and descriptions of the variability models, see the Detailed Design Document (Lewis and Collins, 1999b).
The diagrams and data examples given have been prepared using the version 2.0 database and the ``bright dust'' dataset, unless stated otherwise.
